ONE Yoga Sanctuary owner and teacher, Dragana Pavic-Zappia, has always had an experimental approach to the yogic science and art. She has been a professional student of hatha yoga since 2000. Whereas some people view yoga as a powerful form of exercise and stress relief -both of which it certainly is- Dragana's approach to yoga is simpler and deeper at once. For her, yoga is an exploration of the light within each one of us. It is body work and light work, because the practice puts us in touch with the infinite source of happiness and joy that is constantly available to us.
Dragana Pavic-Zappia, a native of Serbia and Montenegro, and citizen of Earth, has lived near Beaufort, South Carolina since 2004. Through Yogic Arts, Nia and Thai bodywork - Thai Yoga Therapy - she’s found her heart’s home.
Dragana’s initial yoga instruction was with Kim Cech, a dancer, choreographer, and founder of Yoga Chandra Center on Lady’s Island. She then became a Certified White Belt in Nia, which combines yoga, dance, and martial arts. Dragana completed intensive Kundalini Yoga teacher training and is Kundalini Research Institute certified. Subsequent trainings with a variety of teachers continue to shape her path.
Dragana also has a natural healing touch, enhanced by Reiki training in 1997. In 2010 she began learning Thai yoga bodywork - Thai Yoga Therapy - and since has completed 200+ certification and practice hours of hands-on Thai body work.
Living with her husband and young daughter on Lady’s Island, Dragana calls herself “a fortunate Mom, Spouse, Friend, Sister, Daughter ...and a Student forever.”
