Dragana Pavic-Zappia
ONE Yoga Sanctuary owner and teacher, Dragana Pavic-Zappia, has always had an experimental approach to the yogic science and art. She has been a dedicated student of yoga since 2000.
Dragana Pavic-Zappia, a native of Serbia and Montenegro, has lived in near Beaufort, South Carolina from 2004 till 2020 when she moved back to Maine with her family.
Dragana’s initial yoga instruction and tremendous inspiration came from her teacher Kim Cech, a dancer, choreographer, and founder of Yoga Chandra Center on Lady’s Island, now One Yoga Sanctuary.
Dragana is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, and she completed her mentorship program with Aretha Blevins of Nashville’s Iyengar Yoga Center. Dragana’s main focus is studies and research of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali through dedicated daily practice in eight limbs of yoga with and subsequent trainings with senior Iyengar Yoga teachers . She is currently studying under the guidance of John Schumacher.

She completed Certification in Nia Technique, with Stephney Robinson, which in it’s essence is a multi dimensional movement form that combines yoga, dance, and martial arts.
Dragana completed intensive Kundalini Yoga teacher training and is Kundalini Research Institute certified.
Dragana’s Reiki initiation was in 1997 in Athens, Greece. In 2010 she began learning Thai yoga bodywork - Thai Yoga Therapy - and since has completed 200+ certification and practice hours of hands-on Thai body work.
Dragana’s teaching style has evolved through years and stages of her research of yogic science and her personal experience. She now dedicatedly practices and teaches Iyengar Yoga. Her teaching is precise, compassionate and her enthusiasm for the subject gives a sense of joy, peace and clear understanding for the students of all ages and abilities.
Living with her husband, young daughter and Buddy on the coast of Maine, Dragana calls herself “a fortunate Mom, Spouse, Friend, Sister, Daughter ...and a Student forever.”
